GeoHydrologic Consultants, Inc. (GHC) has the experience and the resources to conduct complex forensic environmental investigations. Asking the right questions is the most important step in building a scientifically defensible understanding of a problem. Identifying the source or sources of contamination and the estimated time of release requires a multidisciplinary approach. Forensic geochemistry, modeling, fate and transport studies, historical reviews, and other tools can provide compelling data to develop a case for assigning, partitioning, or refuting responsibility for a release.

At GHC, we work with our clients to develop a pragmatic investigative approach which can significantly reduce the cost of a forensic investigation. We explain the advantages, disadvantages, and ambiguities in utilizing new and old analytical technologies and forensic techniques. At GHC we are always looking at an individual project with a fresh and open mind, although we utilize and recognize our knowledge gained from past projects in assisting us with interpretation of the data, we do not let it overburden our interpretations to the point that existing data are overlooked or necessary data are not collected. We make sure that when designing complex forensic environmental investigations that the existing data are properly validated and interpreted and only additional data are gathered that are necessary to fill in the data gaps and answer the questions being asked.

Our nationally known experts are supported by the talents of our multidisciplinary technical staff, which collectively has a broad range of experience in compiling, interpreting, and presenting data for litigation support and expert witness testimony. Together our experts and our litigation support team plan strategy, perform research and investigations, and develop materials for client legal counsel, to help with litigation and liability disputes, cost recovery, and cost allocations.
